If you’re thinking of traveling to Japan now that it is opening its doors back up to tourists, you should consider investing in a JR Rail Pass.

The JR Rail Pass is a great way for tourists to cheaply and easily travel around Japan. For a given set of time (based on the type of pass you choose) you can get an unlimited amount of rides on JR operated shinkansen lines. With a JR pass, you can travel from Tokyo to Kyoto to Hiroshima to Fukuoka and many other major cities without having to pay for each ticket.

I use a JR pass whenever I travel to Japan and it is well worth it.
